Freddy Fernandez

Biography:

Freddy Fernandez (1988), started out listening to Electro music in his early teenage years. His main interest went out to artists like Daft Punk, Jamiroquai and The Chemical Brothers. At an older age he replaced his electro orientated taste for more Housy music.

His big heroes he gets inspiration from are; D Ramirez, Booka Shade, Sebastien Légér, Laidback Luke, Dave Spoon, Justice, Micha Moor and many more.

Latin House and Electro House were the two deadliest combinations for him, and it became a challenge for him to discover making music with these styles. So, at the age of 16 he produced his first records such as ‘Funk It Like Thiz!’ and ‘What We Gonna…’. Nowadays, these records are still seen as Freddy’s underground breakthrough.

In the summer of 2007 he got his name even better set with the unofficial remix for Gwen Stefani’s ‘Sweet Escape’ and ‘Push It!’. Two tracks which were frequently spinned by major Dutch house DJ’s during the summer of 2007.

This gave Freddy motivation to steam through and for that, he managed to succeed in releasing his first track ‘Bad Girls’ in two different versions (Electro and Oldskool, the last one is a big wink to the underground scene Freddy came from) which were released somewhere in February/March 2008.

Also, Freddy made an electro-minded remix for the upcoming Dutch House talents Remaniax, called ‘Got It Like This!’ which was released at the end of January 2008 at Döner Digital Records.

Freddy also produces with friend and upcoming talent Remy Joel, sometimes under the alias of ‘ConnectioN62′. Freddy and Remy are still busy at studios mixing and producing several tracks so you’ll hear more from them soon!

Freddy Fernandez calls his style a mix of Sebastien Légér, Dave Spoon, D Ramirez, Laidback Luke with a big twist of dirty, lounge, soul, electro and hip-hop. Freddy says he produces whatever he likes and whatever his state of mind is. When he’s in a soulful mood he mixes up loungy tracks. When he is in a partying mood, he mixes up bassy, groovy electro orientated tracks.
